“Anapea” is a company created by husband and wife team Gocha and Khatia in 2014 with a unique mission to restore viticulture tradition in every aspect of the wine making process. From harvest (rtveli) to bottling, only minimal intervention is used.
Anapea family has Vineyards in Sagarejo, Kvareli and Samtskhe-Javakheti region. The grapes for their wines are grown without the involvement of any artificial or chemical herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides and the whole winemaking process does not involve any human intervention. Natural winemaking views the vineyard as an ecosystem and soil as a living organism.
Anapea Village Winery prides itself on producing wines using only natural processses. These wines follow organic and/or biodynamic methods which ensures there is minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar, and uses only use naturally occurring yeast. Grapes are very carefully sorted before pressing and does not add sugar to fermentation process.
The complicated journey of traditional Georgian wine making began with years of experimentation by the Anapea Village Winery family. Anapea has perfected their techniques of grape varieties, skin contact duration, soil preparation and quevri (clay pot) duration all-the-while respecting the contribution of mother nature.
